Little Journeys, Big Smiles: A Heartwarming Day at Rainbow Centre

On 8 July 2025, Art Me Diell had the joy and privilege of joining Rainbow Centre Singapore in one of their inspiring initiatives: the Open Classroom Learning Week. Rainbow Centre is a social service agency in Singapore dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities to thrive in inclusive communities. They provide person-centred programs and services to help their students achieve their fullest potential, a mission that deeply resonates with Art Me Diell’s values.

This year’s Open Classroom Learning Week was themed "Around the World," inviting students to explore different cultures, foods, and experiences from across the globe in a fun and accessible way.

On the day we joined, the spotlight was on the Airport Simulation: a thoughtfully designed activity where students could experience the journey of going through airport security, immigration checkpoints, and hearing in-flight announcements, sparking curiosity and joy about the world beyond.

Together with 172 students, five volunteers from Art Me Diell joined hands with the dedicated teachers, caregivers, staff, and parent volunteers of Rainbow Centre. It was truly heartwarming to see how the students embraced each part of the activity with bright eyes and genuine excitement. From holding their "passports" to listening carefully at each checkpoint, their energy and joy made the day incredibly special for all of us involved.

Throughout the event, it was clear how much care and effort the teachers and caregivers poured into ensuring every student felt safe, heard, and included. They balanced warmth and encouragement with clear guidance, creating a nurturing environment where students could participate confidently and happily.

We are truly grateful for this meaningful opportunity and are looking forward to more moments of connection, joy, and inclusion with Rainbow Centre in the future.

This experience truly resonated with our dream to always support inclusive community. Together, we believe little journeys like these can create the biggest smiles.
