Educational Community
Saung Abah Sahro in Sindangsari, Garut, West Java, Indonesia
"Ngabekelan Élmu, Ngawangun Kahareupna - Empowering oneself through knowledge to shape a thriving future"
Driven by a shared aspiration to cultivate the potential of children in their hometown - Sindangsari, Ratih Kartikasari, a young visionary, and her uncle, Heri Haryanto, established an educational community. With familial support, Ratih founded Saung Abah Sahro, a name honoring her late grandfather.
The initiative serves as a continuation of her grandfather's legacy as a dedicated educator, with its pedagogical approach drawing inspiration from Miss Safira Djati, one of Ratih's elementary school teachers she met through a voluntary program.

Initially comprising ten students from elementary to junior high school focusing on fundamental computer literacy, the community expanded to include twenty-six children. The additional students were ranging from preschool to the early elementary grades. These younger learners receive instruction in foundational literacy, numeracy, and basic English language skills.
The students are eager to learn, but resources are limited. With only one shared laptop for computer lesson, no whiteboard, few school supplies, and no basic English books, their learning environment remains a challenge—yet their spirit endures.
Vision:
To inspire educational change rooted in Sundanese values and empowered by technology.
Mission:
To offer enriching, culturally grounded learning experiences that reduce screen time, preserve heritage, and develop essential skills in language and technology.

Orphanage
Yayasan Bustanul Aitam in Ulim, Pidie Jaya, Aceh, Indonesia
"Nurturing hope and empowering futures — a community’s heart for its children."
Yayasan Bustanul Aitam Ulim is a social foundation born from the spirit of community care in Ulim, Pidie Jaya, Aceh Special Region, Indonesia. Through its orphanage or Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak (LKSA), the foundation provides a safe home, education, and guidance for orphans, vulnerable children, and those at risk of neglect.

Founded in 1999 to support children impacted by the Aceh conflict in 1990s, Yayasan Bustanul Aitam Ulim became officially registered with the Provincial Social Service Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam in 2002 and was inaugurated by Regent Ir. Abdullah Yahya in 2003.
In the wake of the devastating 2004 earthquake and tsunami that greatly affected Aceh, the foundation opened its doors even wider, embracing and uplifting children affected by the disaster. They stood with the community, offering shelter, education, and hope to child survivors.
The foundation continues to grow its care and education programs to support the many orphans and underprivileged children in Ulim and nearby areas.
Today, backed by its community roots, the foundation carries on its mission with recognition from the Indonesia Investment Board One-Stop Service and accreditation from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia—continuing to be a beacon of hope for the next generation.
